The short version. Brooklyn Integrative Psychological Services sees clients in person at our Midtown West office in Manhattan, a few minutes from Columbus Circle and Carnegie Hall. Seven clinicians work from this office, offering individual therapy for adults and older teens and couples and relationship therapy. The work is integrative and depth-oriented, drawing on psychodynamic, AEDP, DBT and EMDR approaches depending on what a client brings. Some clinicians are in network with Aetna and BCBS; superbills are provided for out-of-network plans, and a sliding scale is available. Telehealth across New York State is available with the same clinicians.

Getting here

Who this office tends to suit.

People who work in Midtown and want their session to cost them an hour, not an afternoon. If your office is in the Fifties or Sixties, this room is a walk rather than a commute — which is usually the difference between keeping a weekly appointment and quietly dropping it.

It is a smaller office than Greenpoint or Union Square, which suits clients who would rather not sit in a busy waiting area on their way in.

By train. The N, Q, R and W stop at 57th Street–Seventh Avenue; the B, D and E at Seventh Avenue–53rd Street; the 1 at 50th Street. Columbus Circle, with the A, C, B, D and 1, is a short walk north.

On the address. We confirm the exact address and suite when you book, along with door and buzzer instructions. Our clinicians see clients by appointment only, and we keep the office details between us and the people coming in.

Who works here

7 clinicians, one clinical community.

Everyone here is supervised inside the practice, which means your work sits inside a practice of more than thirty clinicians rather than in one person’s head alone. Availability changes week to week — our intake coordinator will tell you who actually has room.

What people come for

What our Midtown West clinicians work with

Integrative and relational at the core, drawing on psychodynamic work, AEDP, DBT and EMDR — chosen for what you’re bringing rather than applied from a template.

Anxiety & depression

Including the high-functioning kind that looks fine from outside and costs a great deal to maintain.

Work stress & burnout

For people whose job has quietly become the organising fact of their life, and who want to look at why.

Trauma & PTSD

Relational, trauma-informed work — paced to what you can actually carry in a week that keeps moving.

ADHD & executive function

Diagnosis late in life, systems that keep collapsing, and the self-criticism underneath.

Couples & relationships

The cycle underneath the argument — distance, repair, trust. All relationship structures welcome.

Students & young adults

Older teens, college students and people early in their working lives, including identity and family work.

Insurance & fees

How payment works.

In-network plans. Some BIPS clinicians are in network with Aetna and BCBS. We confirm your specific plan before you register, so there are no surprises in week three.

Out of network. We provide detailed superbills, which most PPO plans reimburse at a meaningful percentage of the fee. Our coordinator can check your benefits before your first session.

Sliding scale. A limited number of reduced-fee places are held at each office. Ask — we would rather have the conversation than lose you to a number.

The other offices

Three rooms, one practice.

We also see clients in Greenpoint, Brooklyn and Union Square, and by telehealth anywhere in New York State — plus Massachusetts and Oregon with clinicians licensed there.

If a clinician you want works from a different office, say so. Several of our clinicians split their week between locations, and most can offer telehealth in the weeks when getting across town isn’t realistic.

Common questions

Midtown West FAQ

Where exactly is the office?

In Midtown West, a few minutes from the trains listed above. We confirm the exact address and suite when you book. It isn’t a drop-in office — everyone who comes in has an appointment.

Can I come before or after work?

Some clinicians here hold early morning and evening hours. Those slots go quickly, so tell our intake coordinator the times that genuinely work and we’ll match you accordingly.

Can I start in person and switch to video?

Yes, and most people do at some point. Every clinician here is licensed in New York and can see you by secure video in the weeks when coming in isn’t realistic.

How do you decide who I see?

Our intake coordinator is a trained therapist, which is why the matching works. She asks what you’re bringing, what has and hasn’t helped before, and what your schedule actually allows, then matches you to a clinician with room.

Do you see teenagers?

Yes — several clinicians here work with older teens and college students. Tell us their age when you reach out and we’ll match accordingly.

How do I get started?

Use the contact form. You’ll get a free 15-minute consultation first — no cost, no commitment — so you can hear how we work before you decide anything.

Ready to begin?

Reach out to our intake coordinator. We’ll confirm your insurance, talk through what you’re looking for, and match you with a clinician at Midtown West who has room.
