The short version. BIPS isn't hiring right now. We expect to open roles for pre-licensed clinicians (LMSW and MHC-LP) in 2027 and keep a list of interested clinicians. Clinicians are W-2 employees with weekly supervision, and billing and admin are handled in-house.

We're a small practice and we grow slowly. We open new spots only once our current therapists' schedules are full, so each new clinician gets real support. When roles open, we look for clinicians with:
- At least a year of psychodynamic training and experience
- Some evening availability, since those are our most requested hours
- Plans to stay about three years, which keeps the team steady and close-knit
Licensed clinicians and doctoral-level psychologists are welcome to join the list too.
Pre-licensed therapists
LMSW and MHC-LP. Greenpoint, Union Square and Midtown West, plus telehealth across New York, with offices in Greenpoint Brooklyn, Union Square and Midtown Manhattan. Weekly individual and group supervision toward licensure from doctoral-level psychologists and experienced LCSWs and LMHCs, a caseload matched to your clinical interests, and admin handled by admin.

BIPS operates on a fee-for-service W-2 model. Compensation is based on licensure level, clinical experience, and tenure — with clear pathways for growth. Rates increase at performance and tenure milestones, not on an annual review cycle.
Group therapy facilitators earn a percentage of group revenue. Couples therapy has a separate compensation structure for experienced clinicians. Additional paid opportunities exist for administrative projects such as document editing or content creation.
Bonuses have occurred historically; criteria vary by year and are not guaranteed. Specific compensation details are shared during the interview process in compliance with applicable law.
That's a fair question.
Going solo gives you control. A group practice gives you infrastructure. Which one suits you depends on what you actually want your week to look like, and on how much of the business side you want to own.
We wrote something honest about the trade-offs, including the cases where staying solo is the better call.

Doctoral-level supervision, consistently
Supervision at BIPS is substantive and regular — not a checkbox. Pre-licensed clinicians receive both individual and group supervision weekly, provided by licensed doctoral-level psychologists and senior clinicians.

BIPS doesn't just tolerate specialization — we build around it. Clinicians receive several hours of clinical education per week targeted to their specialty, plus professional development funding to pursue advanced certifications.
