A seminar series for clinicians who want to deepen the relationship between psychodynamic theory and what actually happens in the room. Sessions alternate between a granular focus — the what, why and how of the therapist's participation — and a wider view of the theory that sits behind it.

Special Topics is one of three things Zach teaches at BIPS. Early-career clinicians here get weekly group supervision and weekly didactics covering the foundations. Special Topics is the one pitched higher — a single clinical subject taken up in depth, for people already some way into the work.
Sessions are often open to therapists outside the practice. There is no fee and no CE credit attached. This is not a certificate mill; it is a room where clinicians think out loud about difficult material with people who take it as seriously as they do.
