I am a NYS licensed clinical psychologist and the founder of Brooklyn Integrative Psychological Services, based in Greenpoint. I hold a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from LIU Post, following an undergraduate degree at Columbia, and completed postdoctoral training at the Karen Horney Clinic and the Training Institute for Mental Health.

For well over fifteen years I have worked in outpatient clinics and inpatient psychiatric hospitals across New York City, alongside private-practice psychotherapy with adults and with partners in relationships. I have also supervised and taught for more than ten years.

I have specialized training in LGBTQIA+ care, serious mental illness, autism and neurodiversity, and perinatal and student populations, and I have delivered developmental and intellectual disability services, in-home crisis services, and couples and family work. My clinical experience spans anxiety and panic, depression and mood disorders, ADHD and learning differences, complex trauma and PTSD, psychosis and schizophrenia, personality disorders, and autism and developmental disabilities — including people carrying several of these at once.

My approach is highly integrative: psychodynamic and psychoanalytic work combined with CBT, DBT, and interpersonal and relational therapies, shaped around what you actually need. I have intensive training or certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy with Dr. Sue Johnson, Horneyian therapy, Ericksonian hypnosis, mindfulness-based stress reduction, schema therapy, Trauma Art Narrative Therapy, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and brief solution-focused therapy.

Not every problem is a nail, so why have only one hammer? I am interested in where evidence-based therapy meets newer approaches, particularly the intersection of western neuropsychology and eastern philosophy. I will not simply ask how you are feeling and then tell you to breathe more — though breathing is a good thing to do.

What you get is a comprehensive approach that takes in your culture, identity, systems, environment, nutrition, pharmacology, current events and physical health. My research interests have centered on diverse and underrepresented people: creative and taboo subcultures, intersecting minority identities, and non-traditional lifestyles. As a native New Yorker, that is my own background, and it lends itself to being an open-minded, non-judgmental, no-BS psychologist.

It can be hard to know what kind of therapy or therapist is right for you, and harder still to find someone you can open up to. People often feel strange around mental health providers and find they are not clicking with anyone. Let's talk about what you need and see whether I can help.
