Psychodynamic therapy can offer a unique opportunity to bring more light to the patterns we find ourselves in.
How I work
I believe that psychodynamic therapy can offer a unique opportunity to bring more light to the patterns we find ourselves in. So much of what shapes us — how we relate to others, protect ourselves, or experience desire — operates below awareness, and therapy can be a place to slow down and notice it.
As a therapist, I approach the work relationally, and believe that dynamics you might encounter outside of the therapy room can often emerge in therapy as well. By working in the here and now, and paying attention to what happens between us, we can understand these patterns as they're actually unfolding, and in doing so you may come to know yourself in a new way.
I offer a space to listen deeply — to your thoughts, feelings, memories, and fantasies — in an environment I hope feels both playful and authentic. I stay attentive to issues of class, race, gender, and identity, and to the ways the broader social world enters the room. Most of all, I'm curious to understand you on your own terms.
Finding a therapist can be daunting. Feel free to get in touch and we can talk about what support you are looking for.
