I'm Cai, and I'm one of many native Ohioans who have found their way to the big city. I'm passionate about connecting with people, hearing their stories, and finding ways to laugh together in life's most difficult moments.

I came to this work after an eight-year career working alongside families, advocates and health care workers on policy campaigns to widen access to Medicaid services. That work taught me something I carry into every session: how much of what wears a person down is structural, and how exhausting it is to keep pushing against systems that were not built with you in mind. When that is part of what you are holding, it belongs in the room too.

I work with adults on anxiety, depression and panic, on trauma, and on relationship and family dynamics. My approach draws on DBT, Internal Family Systems and somatic work — which in practice means we will build concrete skills for the moments that overwhelm you, get curious about the parts of you that formed to protect you, and pay attention to what your body is doing while we talk.

I aim for sessions that are warm and unhurried, where nothing you bring is too small or too complicated to say out loud. Humor is welcome here. So is silence.

I see clients under close clinical supervision as I complete my training. Outside of work you will find me looking for new places to swim, lying in the grass with my dog, or making my loved ones watch Real Housewives.
