Chris Black, MHC-LP
If you are having difficulty integrating your identity, processing tough emotions, seeking meaning in life, or struggling with men’s issues/relational conflict, you're in the right place. I specialize in deepening self-understanding and facilitating actualization: "What’s going on in my head? Why can’t I move past what happened? Who am I?" Modern life's many demands can leave us with little bandwidth to address these questions, and distressing symptoms that affect our mental wellbeing arise in their cast shadows. In reading this, however, part of you that is courageous is making a demand of its own: “I want to make a change."
Self-concept is key to my work: safely processing your relationship to yourself, the people in your life, and the world around you can effectively treat even the most daunting of concerns. As a jazz musician and collector of tattoos, allow me tell you: there is nothing you can bring in that is too sensitive, nor too painful, for us to work through together.
I am experienced working with clients of diverse backgrounds and presenting issues; if you have a beating heart in your chest, you have a place at my practice. Whether you’re a first-timer or seasoned therapy-pro, even considering asking for help is a brave first-step worth celebrating...taking those next steps alongside you would be my honor and privilege.
