Therapy might seem intimidating, but I work from a very friendly and relatable approach. My style of therapy is affirming and non-judgmental. I like to think of our sessions as two humans navigating whatever challenge you’re going through. I’m just as curious about how your past shaped you as I am about your goals for the future. On my therapy couch, it's safe to share your secrets, access your most vulnerable feelings, and truly feel seen by another person. However, I also challenge my clients (when appropriate) because I believe that good therapy means seeing real change in the behaviors and thought patterns that aren't serving you.
I specialize in working with low self-esteem; often, this looks like negative self-talk, lack of boundaries, or social comparison. I work from an integrative, compassion-based approach that combines cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, and psychodynamic therapies to help with additional issues including depression, anxiety, stress, and lack of purpose. As a career switcher, I understand the unique challenges faced by those questioning or actively changing their professional path. I'm also an abstract artist and mesh well with creative types.
While I enjoy working with people anywhere on their therapy journey, I particularly welcome those who are first-timers or new to the process
Whether you're feeling "stuck," unhappy, overwhelmed, or unmotivated, I firmly believe that therapy can be useful for anyone - at any time. I’m seeing clients in-person in Greenpoint and Union Square or virtually.
